Nelson C. Bellido Honored by the Miami-Dade Commission on Ethics & Public Trust

Roig Lawyers, a minority-owned, multi-practice litigation law firm dedicated to serving clients across six offices throughout Florida, congratulates Nelson C. Bellido, Esquire, managing partner of the Miami office, on receiving an award from the Miami-Dade Commission on Ethics & Public Trust for his dedicated service as Chairman from December 2013-December 2015.

The Ethics Commission is dedicated to bolstering public trust in the administration of government by informing the public and private sectors about the laws and seeking strict compliance with them. It is empowered to subpoena, audit, and investigate all facts and persons materially related to a complaint at issue.

Nelson has practiced law for over 22 years and his main areas of practice are in complex commercial litigation, insurance defense litigation, insurance fraud special investigations, finance law, products liability, and shareholder and partnership disputes. Nelson has substantial jury trial experience in both federal and state courts throughout Florida.

Nelson has been dedicated to the community and the legal profession through his various roles. He currently serves as a mentor for the Hispanic National Bar Association (HNBA), which has a large membership of young attorneys throughout the country. Nelson also presently serves on the Duke University Alumni Association Advisory Council as Chairperson and is the Chair-Elect of the Miami-Dade County Fair & Exposition. Nelson is a former member of the Board of Directors of the Cuban American Bar Association (CABA) where he served as Chair of the Judicial Committee, Diversity Committee, Ethics & Professionalism Committee, and CABA on Cuba committees. Nelson also served as organizer and co-chair of CABA’s 2013 Doing Business in Latin America conference. He was also a former committee member of the Florida Bar Diversity Symposium.
