Roig Lawyers, a minority-owned, multi-practice litigation law firm dedicated to serving clients across six offices throughout Florida, is a proud sponsor of the Florida Defense Lawyers Association (FDLA) 2015 Annual Meeting being held at The Vinoy® Renaissance St. Petersburg Resort and Golf Club from August 6-8, 2015.

Edward J. Carbone, managing partner of the Tampa office and the head of the firm’s Healthcare practice, is currently on the FDLA Board of Directors where he and the FDLA Officers set goals for the operation of the organization and organize and run the Annual Meeting, the Winter Meeting, and the Florida Liability Claims Conference.

The Florida Defense Lawyers Association was formed in April 1967 to represent the interests of Lawyers in private practice whose practice was primarily the defense of civil matters. Over 1000 strong, FDLA now extends membership to Lawyers employed by public agencies and private corporations.

Its goals remain the same: to promote a level playing field in civil litigation and to foster members’ growth as professionals. FDLA does this through publications, quality CLE programs, networking and support of fellow members, and collegial and social membership meetings. Interests span such diverse issues as law practice economics, legislative developments, influencing substantive law, developing professional referrals, sharing expert information, supporting members on statewide committees and elected offices.
