ROIG Partner Recognized as 40 Under 40 by Cystic Fibrosis Foundation

ROIG Lawyers is a proud to announce that Miami partner James P. Gueits is being honored by the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation (CFF) as one of 40 Under 40 Outstanding Lawyers of South Florida. The event will take place on Saturday, November 5, 2016 at the FIU Kovens Conference Center in North Miami.

The CFF’s 40 Under 40 is a prestigious event recognizing 40 outstanding lawyers of South Florida under the age of 40 and benefiting the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. The event will feature an awards presentation recognizing the honorees, dinner, a live auction, a Bid for a Cure and a silent auction.

The event chairpersons, the Foundation and the 40 Under 40 honorees bring together hundreds of South Florida’s legal professionals to help CFF realize its mission of controlling and curing cystic fibrosis (CF).

About the Attorney

James P. Gueits is a partner in the Miami office of ROIG Lawyers. He advises clients with business interests in the U.S. and Latin America. James has broad experience providing in-bound corporate services to foreign based companies, as well as to companies with existing domestic operations. James handles real estate and financial transactions on behalf of corporate clients and has represented lenders and other institutional providers of credit during the documentation of various types of loan facilities.

James regularly represents business entities and their shareholders in complex litigation involving mergers, acquisitions, securities fraud, and investor disputes. James has particular experience defending companies operating in foreign jurisdictions and their shareholders against claims asserted in U.S. courts. He also represents business interests in proceedings before administrative agencies of government.

James currently serves as a Trustee for the City of Coral Gables’ Pension System. He is a past chair and current member of its Investment Committee. He has held directorships on various business-related and not-for-profit boards and previously served as a judicial intern for the Honorable Judge Federico A. Moreno in the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida.
