Nelson Bellido Sworn in for 3rd Term on Miami-Dade County Commission on Ethics

On July 19, 2018, Nelson C. Bellido, Managing Partner of the Miami office of Roig Lawyers, was sworn in by Chief Judge Bertila Soto of the Eleventh Judicial Circuit in and for Miami-Dade County for a third term on the Miami-Dade County Commission on Ethics & Public Trust.

Nelson is the longest-serving commissioner on the 5-person Commission having served since being appointed by former Chief Judge Joel Brown in July 2010. Nelson presently serves as the Commission’s Vice-Chairperson and was past Chair from 2012—2014.

Nelson also serves as Chairperson of the Miami-Dade County Fair & Exposition and was recently appointed by Florida Bar President Michelle Suskauer to the Florida Bar’s Standing Committee on Professionalism.

About the Miami-Dade County Commission on Ethics & Public Trust

The Ethics Commission was created in 1996 as a result of a citizens’ vote to amend the Home Rule charter. It is an independent agency with advisory and quasi-judicial powers. It is composed of five members, each serving staggered terms of four years at a time.
