Roig Lawyers Tampa Attorney Appointed to Florida Defense Lawyers Association (FDLA) Young Lawyers Committee

September 25, 2015

Roig Lawyers, a minority-owned, multi-practice litigation law firm dedicated to serving clients across six offices throughout Florida, is pleased to announce that Miguel R. Roura has been elected as Co-Chair of the Florida Defense Lawyers Association (FDLA) Young Lawyers Committee for a two-year term.

As an FDLA Committee Chair Member, Roura will be an integral participant of the Board meetings where he will provide committee activity updates to FDLA’s Executive Board. He will also be responsible for fostering various leadership roles within the organization.

The Florida Defense Lawyers Association represents the interests of lawyers in private practice whose practice primarily focuses on the defense of civil matters and extends membership to lawyers employed by public agencies and private corporations.

FDLA’s goal is to promote a level playing field in civil litigation and to foster its members’ growth as professionals through publications (a quarterly newsletter and a quarterly legal journal, Trial Advocate Quarterly), quality CLE programs, networking and support of fellow members, and collegial and social membership meetings. The group’s interests span such diverse issues as law practice economics, legislative developments, influencing substantive law, developing professional referrals, sharing expert information, and supporting members on statewide committees and elected offices.

FDLA organizes and puts on two annual educational conferences primarily for members, one major annual education conference for the claims industry, and numerous other educational programs throughout the year. It also has an Amicus Program, through which FDLA members volunteer to write amicus briefs in appellate cases of general interest to the defense bar.
